The ability to accurately anticipate is a critical feature of performance and has long been identified as an essential attribute of the expert performer in table tennis. A player will move at proper position and return the ball after anticipating the landing point accurately. The movement of return will be influence and the player will lose a point because of the anticipation incorrectly or tardily. Matched Chinese table tennis youth team players (expert) and Beijing Sport University table tennis players (novice) were tested on a software designed to predict the landing point of the ball. The results provide that the expert showed a higher validity than the novice group. It correlated with the specialized knowledge, visual search activity, the veracity of specialized muscle feeling.
