| With the rapid development of China's economy, more and more farmers come to the city for jobs and play greater roles in the construction of national foundation facilities and cities. In the meantime, the relocation of the population brings about many social problems, especially the education of the rural migrant workers'children. This problem has caught the attention of both the central government and the public. If the rural migrant workers'children do not have equal opportunities of education, a new illiterate population is inevitable, which will eventually influence the development and stability of the society. This problem has become a big challenge for building a harmonious society in China. Therefore, the study on the education problem of the rural migrant workers'children is of great importance nowadays.By using the experience of the Shanghai city for reference and on the basis of plentiful first-hand materials and on-site survey, this article analyzes the cause of the education problem of the rural migrant workers'children. It also provides some instructional proposals and measures according to the situation. This article is divided into four chapters in addition to Introduction and Conclusion.First chapter: The occurrence of the education problem of the rural migrant workers'children. This chapter discusses the occurrence of the problem, analyzes the existing problem and studies the causes of the problem.Second Chapter: Shanghai's experience on the education of the rural migrant workers'children. This chapter introduces the successful experience of Shanghai and compares three means of providing education for the rural migrant workers'children including national school, private school, state-owned and private-operated school.Third Chapter: The situation and problems of the education of the rural migrant workers'children in Shanghai. This chapter probes into the situation of the education of the rural migrant workers'children in Shanghai and analyzed the major difficulties including financial stringency, admission to higher education and children's psychological problems.Forth chapter: The countermeasures and suggestions on the education of the rural migrant workers'children. Based on the historical review, comparison study and investigation discussed in the former chapters, this chapter provides advices for resolving the problem and promoting the transition of the education of the rural migrant workers' children from private-operated mode to national-operated mode. |
