Initiating inquiry study is one of the principles of the New Curriculum Standard of Biology of Senior High School (experiment). The purpose of this principle is to simulate the students'interest of learning biology, to improve the abilities of finding out and solving problems, to develop their thinking methods and usual behaviors ,to help them learn how to study and develop in all aspects. How to assess in the biology inquiry activities, is a new problem faced in the new curriculum reform. This essay, based on the suggestion of the new curriculum standard–select different strategies for different teaching method, put forward the standpoint of using performance assessment in high school biology inquiry activities, considering the relative investigation results of 10 high school in Suzhou city, this essay also talked about how to organize the high school biology inquiry activities and how to use performance assessment in theory and operation. There were also some operating cases in actual teaching designed as reference for the teachers.
