In recent years, the problem of organizational trust has become a very important research topic. There were some studies indicated that the trust amone teachers was higher than the trust between teachers and principals, and more than two thirds of teachers didn't think their principals worthy to be trust. We take"the relationship between principal's leadership behaviors and been trust in primary and middle school"as the topic of the research, to explore the factors and theoretical mechanisms that influence principals to gain trust from teachers.Researchers use Butler's Conditions of Trust Inventory as measurement tool, sample 403 teachers from Anhui, Jiangsu and orther province as subject, to explore the mechanisms how teachers trust principals, and check the relation between principals's leadership behaviors and levels of been trust. Results are as follows:(1) The interpersonal model is the main mechanism in the process that principals gain teachers'trust.(2) In all aspects of the leadership behaviors, competence, availability, consistency and loyalty are main factors that influence principals to gain trust (determinant coefficient = .717), the most important factor is competence (determinant coefficient = .634). These four factors of principal's leadership behavior can be explained by Yang Chungfang's interpersonal trust model, competence consists to the fixed components, consistency and availability consist to the instrumental components, loyalty consists to affection components.According to the results of the research, if principals want gain trust in the mutual relation with teachers, they should follow three principles in practice: consistency principle, support principle and loyalty principle. On the basis of these findings, researchers promote four suggestions: researching the competence model of principals; using competence model to choose principals; using competence model to train principals; following interpersonal trust ptinciples to gain trust.
