Chinese teaching in China has always put emphasis on the teaching of ancient prose,which,is both an important carrier of Chinese traditional culture and an important element of it as well.To learn ancient prose is to accept the influence and teaching of traditional culture.Students in senior high school can cultivate interest of loving ethic language through the learning of ancient prose,which can also help to develop healthy characteristies and form full personality. Therefore,it′s by no means the prose teaching′s responsbility to promote fine traditional culture.The pieces of ancient proses which have been adopted into the new versions of chinese teaching school books,published in people′s Education Press, are embodied with rich and deep spirit of traditional culture. However,ancient prose teaching still has problems in passing down the traditional culture. For example,students do not have enough interest in learning it; and have more thorough understanding in European culture than their own; Some teachers teach ancient prose for the purpose of exam,lacking vigor in teaching traditional culture,and so on. So, in the teaching activity, language teachers in senior high school should continuously strengthen themselves in the traditional culture, taking education for all-round development as the basic, passing to go deeply scoop out of the intension of excellently traditional cultural in the ancient proses, to lead the students to wander in the long and brilliant Chinese traditional culture, and urge them to form a healthy emotion and the advanced life attitude. In the meantime, adopting modernization education principle and various teaching methods will introduce a traditional cultural education in the ancient prose teaching, display the charm of the tradition culture toward to the students, develop them with chinese traditional virtue, and strengthen them with the responsibility consciousness for the national development service.
