The Challenge To Development: The Road To Social Differentiation In Mountainous Regions

There are 43% mountainous area and 40% poverty-rate on this area in China. It will give the important theoretical meaning and realistic value to analyzing the problem and the behavior of development in mountainous society。According to the different developmental endings from the non-mountainous and mountainous area, we can suppose the same developmental behavior can result in different effects in different landform. We will examine this assumption through the Comparison of different complexion of the same behavior in different areas. We chose road which is a daily life implement to be the medi-variable in the process of analysis. The study will include two aspects. The first, distinguish the different structures and functions of two kinds of road in mountainous area. Secondly, compare the different effects of the behavior to build road between non-mountainous and mountainous society. So we concluded that the way of development which fit in non-mountainous region can hardly expand to mountainous society.We elected the field investigation and comparative method to be the article's project. We find that road system is not only a medi-variable suits to observe long-term social development, but also a good verifiable system to validate some dark hypothesis. We analyze the life style of the mountainous community base on the road system, and analyze the positive and negative effects of developmental behavior. We think that geographical and historical reasons bring on the special movement mode of social development in mountainous area. Transplant the integrative developmental behavior unilaterally will give developmental crisis to behindhand regions. The modern road grew on differentiation in mountainous community.The article valued the daily life analysis, artifact and long-term phenomena enough. We think that the change of road system is slower than our imagination, so the simon-pure development which is for man and together with life is adaptive one. The long-term daily life structure will adjust the speed of development actively. If we overcome the technique obstacle, the developmental problem will convert into self-determine problem of the spirit level. The Chinese mountainous areas need not only institutional support, but also need to rehabilitate. Therefore, the adaptive development is the necessary way for China.
