In the past 30 years, meta-cognition is an important and new concept in the western psychological and educational sphere. It consists of two basic processes occurring simultaneously: monitoring your progress as you learn, and making changes and adapting your strategies if you perceive you are not doing so well. It's about self-reflection, self-responsibility and initiative, as well as goal setting and time management. With the development of meta-cognitive theory, more and more attention has been paid to its role in the educational practice. This paper has three chapters, which involve the cultivation of senior three students'meta-cognitive abilities. Chapter 1 covers the background and current situation in Chinese studies and examinations. Chapter 2 presents the theory of meta-cognition. Finally, specific measurements are given in helping students how to revise Chinese course and how to prepare for the college entrance examination successfully.
