Graduate education is the great strategy of implementing "rejuvenating the country through science" and important measure for training high-level talents for the realization of socialist modernization. With the continuous development of graduate education and the expanding of the enrollment scale, some irrational phenomenon gradually reveals in the system of postgraduate training. The quality of postgraduate has increasingly become the focus of higher education. How to set up a scientific and reasonable incentive mechanism to improve the enthusiasm in study and research, how to rationalize the system of postgraduate training and how to raise the quality of graduate students steadily have become the issues deserved to study in the management of postgraduate.Data, questionnaire, interview and statistics are used in this paper. On the basis of studying of theory and practice home and abroad, the paper analyses the status of postgraduate incentive mechanisms and the problems should be paid attention to in the process of graduate education. The paper aims to find the countermeasures of optimizing the postgraduate incentive mechanism through the survey of the hierarchy of needs of college graduates and the analysis to the incentive factors of postgraduate.At present, the main problems that should be paid attention to in incentive mechanisms are:â‘ the problem of motivation time;â‘¡the problem of appropriate motivation;â‘¢the problem of special motivation and comprehensive motivation;â‘£the problem of material motivation and spiritual motivation. According to the hierarchy of needs theory and investigation, it can be summed up that college graduate not only have the low level needs but also have the high level ones. Combining the inherent needs of college graduate and the associated incentive factors, the postgraduate incentive mechanisms should be optimized from the following aspects:â‘ to increase the scale of award and perfect the system of award and aid;â‘¡to reform the curriculum system and perfect the incentive mechanism of graduation;â‘¢to play the role of tutor and research team and strengthen the system of tutor-responsible;â‘£to optimize the academic atmosphere and improve the innovation mechanism.
