We divided the history of Higher Science Education in China into three stages according to the main track and trend of the development of our country. Before Liberation, Higher Science Education in China was established legally in the university accompany with the Higher Education was officially included in the school, and it achieved initial development. Before the Reform and Opening Policy in China, the development of Higher Science Education in China was undulated, but the general trend is the developed. It had a certain scale, and the pace of development is faster than before. Higher Science Education in China was vigorously developed science in 1978, especially since1999, when colleges and universities in China have increased their enrollment, the scale and pace of it both reached the highest level in history, and its structure has been constantly adjusting and optimizing.The number of students in Higher Science Education in China has been greatly expanded and teachers have increased, too. There are many changes in the structure of Higher Science Education in China. However, compared with the development of the developed countries, the level of Higher Science Education in China is still very low.There are still many problems during the development of Higher Science Education in China, such as relatively small-scale, slow speed, unreasonable structure, low level training, less coordination among various forms of education and low level of the overall quality of teachers. From the scale and the speed of Higher Science Education in China,"cares science more than literature"is debatable.The paper proposed that we should improve level of our recognitions to Higher Science Education in China, adjust and optimize the scale and the structure, strengthen the training of teachers, increase investment, and establish a scientific system of quality assurance to improve the quality and efficiency of Higher Science Education in China. It promotes a better future of Higher Science Education in China.
