Emerged in the early 1980s, the Chinese Guidance Teaching Method is a proposed teaching method to the teaching of Chinese reading. The core of it lies in "guide", which means enlightenment and guidance step by step. What's more, it emphasizes that the students are the subject in the process of their understanding and development, focusing on the cultivating of students' self-reading ability and active exploration spirit. During the process, teachers only act as guiders. This paper attempts to collate the relevant theories and the current status of this method, aiming to have a better understanding of its past and present situation and also develop its contents of good and helping progress and development of teaching reading. At the same time, this paper tries to rational thinking of this method so as to provide more preferences to the current Chinese teaching on reading.Six parts will be included in this paper.Part One: Forewords. Lots of related issues, such as the object and purposes of the research, the reasons and significance of the research, the literature review as well as the ideas and methods of the research will be introduced in this part.Part Two: An overall description of the Chinese Guidance Teaching Method. Facing the inadequacies of the commonly used "Reading Method", the Chinese Guidance Teaching Method emerged as a kind of new teaching method, which has the "three mains" as its theoretical basis, namely "student-centered, teacher-led and practice-oriented;" and has the "four ways" as its basic ways of lesson, that is "self-reading, teaching-reading, exercise and repeat-reading". Being one of the Learning-leading Teaching Method, the Chinese Guidance Teaching Method not only has some characteristics with other similar methods in common, such as the approval of the students' subject character, the emphasis of teachers' leading role and the cultivating of students' self-learning ability; but also has its own unique, reflected by having a clear guiding ideology and operating procedures, emphasizing the arts of teachers guide and so on.Part Three: The emergence and development of the Chinese Guidance Teaching Method. Like many other teaching methods, the Chinese Guidance Teaching Method is the product of the reform and opening-up trend, aiming to meet the needs of Chinese teaching reform as well as to facilitate the development and improvement of the Chinese reading methods. Its emergence and development has experienced from prototype to perfect, from part to the whole and from perception to ration, improved by constantly summing up, progressing and promoting. In the 1980s, it boasted far-reaching impact on the Chinese teaching circle and was widely used in secondary school Chinese teaching at that time. Also there are kinds of evaluation from different perspectives, different voices.Part Four: The current status of Chinese Guidance Teaching Method. Produced in the 1980s, the Chinese Guidance Teaching Method played an important role at that time. In new era, is it still being put in an important position? What kind of inadequacies does it have? This part mainly focuses on the result of the interview survey to collate and analysis its current status systematically.Part Five: The rational thinking of the Chinese Guidance Teaching Method. On the basis of its history collation and analysis of its current status, this part tries to rational thinking of its benefits and inadequacies, so as to adapt to the need of the current Chinese teaching on reading of the secondary school and offer more references for the future development of Chinese reading teaching in China.Part Six: Conclusion...
