Research On The Application Of CAI In Geography Education

The science and technology is both the first and the most advanced productive forces. The information technology has caused comprehensive and profound socialist transformation, and also has set new requests to education. At present, the main model of education is basically formed more than 300 years ago when it was industrialization society initial period. The information technology to the present education is an inevitably"revolution", which caused the whole didactical and educational reform. Currently, one of the essential targets of basic education reform is to changes the traditional educational model which takes the teachers as the central, constructing a new educational model that can not only display the teachers' leading role but also manifest the students'cognitive function fully, based on which comprehensive reforms of course content, teaching media and teaching method should be realized gradually. The change of educational model will cause profound transforms of the teaching process, educational concept, teaching concepts and the theories of teaching and learning.The Computer-aided instruction (CAI) has a breakthrough on the traditional Audio-visual means and overcome the inadequate of the traditional Audio-visual means by which some still frames such as slide, video and so on usually are used . This caused difficulty in establishing analysis of space and time view based on macroscopic and microscopic, especially in Demonstrating according to teacher's mentality and Curriculum request——Teachers often teach by these slide shows and video tapes. Even though, computer's controllability, logical and the parameter variability, are very helpful for the development of the dissemination of multimedia information such as seeing and hearing and so forth.The Geography is a science that study the relationship between the human activity and the geographical environment, and is characterized with comprehensive, regional and practical, along with which the characteristics of computer technology displayed astonishing compatibility. Therefore, CAI should be used in geography teaching, which is the important way of geography educational reform. Based on the theory and practice of CAI development home and abroad, and depending on the mature theoretical system and practical experience from educational experts and teachers of our country. This paper has studied and elaborated related problems on the combination of CAI and Geography education. The paper includes six parts as the follows:Part One: Introduction. Begin with the challenge faced in the development process of computer, we expatiated the object's background and Significance of using computer in Geography teaching.Part Two: Research and application of CAI in foundational Geography education. We specified the cause of the union of Geography teaching and computer, the practical significance of the combination of CAI and Geography teaching, the principles and application level of CAI in Geography teaching and the problem of CAI in teaching application ,all of which prepared enough theories for the following researches.Part Three: The courseware classification and appraisal of CAI. We specified the fundamental model, the principles and standards of the appraisal of CAI courseware.Part Four: Research on the production of CAI courseware for Geography teaching. We regard the attention, the basic processes and the principles of CAI as focus.Part Five: The teaching design of CAI courseware on Geography. It is considered that the design should be constructed on the basis of Geography, Educational Psychology, Computer application subjects, Art discipline and so on. And then, we elaborated attentions and solutions of the design .Part Six: Conclusion. Summing up the whole research process, we summarize the main conclusions of this paper and Raise further outlook further about this subject.
