Study On Tujia Baldachin Culture Change

Tujia baldachin is the crystalization of Tujia women, which takes root In Tujia life, and gives birth to Tujia people life rules,and is the bailment of Tujia spiritual life and symbolization of ethnic group recognition. Today, among the"old-traditioned"people, it still exists as an"iron-set tradition"wedding custom, in the tourism market, it suits people's aesthetic tasete in a new posture. So ,today's baldachin, compared with those in the old days , has greatly changed.Under the present social change era and new culture background, Tujia people's baldachin fiercely conflicts with modern society's industrial culture, and leads to culture conflicts or culture dis-comfort, and finally leads to dying out of some culture ,which predents real limitations. So, from the aspect of ethnonymics, to understand the culture change of Tujia baldachin in the modern times,to study the various factors in the culture change is undoubtly of great importance to Tujia baldachin transformation to culture industrialization. This essay, based on field investigation, taks Yejiazai as an example to xrplore Tujia baldachin's appearance,development and real existence, and aesthetics idea and life customs of baldachin producers which are related, to cramp out social actions and social structure. It will enlight on folk arts'position in modern society in ethnic minority areas and on it's inheritation and innovation.This essay is consisited of preface, six chapters and conclusion. The preface mainly dwells on the study origin,meaning, previous study,main idea and academic value. The first chapter describes Yejiazai's natural surroundings, origin of Ye people and relevant culture factors. Chapter two summerizes the history of Tujia baldachin from ancient times,modern times and present age. Chapter three describe Tujia baldachin's production instrument and production flow on one hand , and summerizes characteristics of original arts on the other hand. Chapter four analysizes the contemporary change of Tujia baldachin from six aspcts as production technics,variety, types ,material, function and value. Chapter five explains the reason of the change combined with the example of Yejiazai. The author thinks that fadding out of Coming-of-age ceremony,displacement of culture field,missing of inherit carriers,spare time life style change, change of outer surroundings,and effectfrom foreign culture are the main reasons.Chapter six evaluates the favourable and unfavorable factors in the development, and makes a feasability ananlysis on the culture industralization of Tujia baldachin, thus providing an universal counter-measurefor the present folk arts development, and providing inference for solving relevant problems.
