In recent years, campus culture attracted more and more attention as an important way of moral education. Campus culture, which functions without being detected as tacit curriculum, develops in the environment of schools. Campus culture that was shown in the aims of school-running, values, the campaigns of students'organization, traditions, typical buildings and environment could be divided into the spiritual culture, the system culture and the material culture. As for the students, campus culture may play a influencing, driving and guiding role to the formation of world outlook, the establishment of faiths, the achievement of ideal, the practices of makings, the formation of individuality and the changes of behavior. In summary, the campus culture is with the moral-educating function such as value-guiding, behavior-limiting, character-influencing, developing the good and discarding the bad.Studying the moral education of American campus culture could be advantageous to enhance the actual effect of moral education in our universities. Through researching in the American campus culture systematically, this thesis explains the characteristics, ways and methods of the moral education in American universities, so as to improve the moral-education theories and practices in our universities. The structure of this thesis is as follows:In the first part, the current situation of American campus culture was shown briefly in the aspects of the researching achievement for American campus culture and the cardinal characteristic of American campus culture.The second part summarized the ways and the methods of moral education in American campus culture. The realization of the goals of moral education depends on the practice link - ways and methods. What can be borrowed is that the ways and methods of American moral education are divertive and operational. In this part, six ways, those were classroom teaching, life instruction, campus activity, social activity, religion and public environment, and three methods, those were the unifying of public instills and tacit instills, the unifying of instructing and the self-educating and the unifying of moral theorizing and practicing, were listed. While the actual effect of American moral education was affirmed, the problems were also disclosed. For example, the individualism values would be responsible for the conservative education; there was a lack of integrity in moral education system which prevented the moral education in universities to work coordinately.In the third part, the characteristics of moral education in American universities were analyzed. The class natures of moral education in American higher education manifests through the political nature, displaying in the civic education, the patriotic education, the values education and the law education. This part defines the moral education from analyzing the actual effect of moral education. The US people carried on scientific research in the moral education of universities according to its national condition, which has established theory system conforming to their actual condition.In the forth part, the problems in moral education in our campus culture were put forward. And then, the necessity of studying the moral-education function of American campus was argued. At last, how to borrowing something good for us from American model in order to enhance the moral levels of our campus students is debated.
