| With the swift development of the social life inforamation and the globazation of the ecnomic activities,the 21-century civilians must master a foreign language and mastering the foreign language provides the necessary prerequisite conditions for the progress of science and technology,the international ecnomy,the conmunication of culture.If the students would not grasp the skills of learning the foreign language, they would meet many restrictions in the choice of education,the development of the career, the possibility of thre employment and the arrangement of life goal.Our English teaching conditions cannot meet the demand of the ecnomic construction and the social development.There exist many problems in English teaching and there is a long way to go for the requirements of the times development.In the course of teaching English, more attention is paid to the grammar rules learning,and poor thinking is focused on fostering the students'actual language ability. The students havenot mastered the comprehensive ability in listening,speaking,reading,and writing even though they have studied the English language for nine years. The English teaching is purposed for the fewer high-talented students and neglects the cries of all the students for learning English. The sole way of the teaching value is the result of learning and not the progress of teaching. The teachers'teaching levels are not balanced in good way and the qualities of teachers'teaching hinder the the progress of English teaching.The reform of English curriculum tries to solve these problems mentioned above.The aims of the new curriculum reform is:"Face to all the students and lay the good foundation for the students whole development and lifelong expectations ; Advocate task-based teaching approach and put the culture of the comphensive language using ability in the progress of the teaching."With the advent of the new curriculum reform,the teachers make the research about the current education notions,the teaching method and the teaching art with the new point of view, along with the reflection of the traditional teaching thought,strategies and approach taken before.All these ask the teacher to accumalute and value what they have practised in the traditional teaching course.In view of the early stage of the task-based teaching research in the domestic academic circles, the teaching strategies of reading adapted into the national teaching condition have not been developed in a practical way. And few theories and articles abroad has been given to such related research, thus hindering the further development and research about the teaching skills of reading by mean of task-based approach.Here the author tends to make the systematic, logical research into the notions, principle, form , teaching characteristic of reading by way of the task-based approach based on the existing disadvantage teaching problems and boasts to give some novel suggestions in designing the teaching patterns of reading. What the author have done is purposed to bring some beneficial reference to the peers in the progression of the reform of the new curriculum . |
