We should keep the function of the countryside family provision for the aged because of lack of social provision for the aged. Due to the concept of value, the relationship between the young generation and the old generation, the functions of family provision for the aged are faced with challenges and getting weaker and weaker. And it runs counter to the goal of establishing harmonious society and the new countryside of socialism.As a matter of fact, there has ever been the co-existence relationship between family provision for the aged and social provision for the aged, however, their proportion is different in different historical stages.
