Using data from 240 inhabitants in Cai Zhai village of Henan province, this article describes the village inhabitants'occupational mobility between generations after reform and opening and its determinants. The study shows, the level of the village inhabitants'occupational mobility between generations after reform and opening lies in a high level. When the children's occupation compare with fathers', the level of the village inhabitants'occupational mobility between generations is high, in addition, when the children's occupation compare with mothers'the level is also high. The latter is a little higher than the former. The determinants (compare with fathers'occupation) are: the children's education, the children's age when they get the first occupation and the fathers'occupation et al. The determinants (compare with mothers'occupation) are: the children's education, the mothers'occupation, the fathers'occupation and family finances. These findings lead to a perspective on occupational mobility between generations from personal factors and family factors. That is, the level of occupational mobility between generations may be affected by determinants of children's education directly, which is the most important one of all, and will be influenced by fathers'education, family finances and mothers'occupation indirectly.
