School culture and characteristic is a key factor to promote the development of higher school. Some private higher schools pay more and more attention to the development of their school culture. On the other hand, some new problems emerge in the process, what is most important is how to build the school culture from two different angles.For-profit and for-publics coexist in the organization of Chinese private higher education. At the same time , they are not paradoxical. The reality of lack of money and cruel competition in higher education market make Chinese private higher education run at a for-profit angle; while, private higher education is more like public product when we see its social attribute and curriculum. After all, the non-paradox of for-profit and for-public leads to the complexity of its school culture. This study has done some research on the private higher school culture by analyzing its for-profit and for-public characteristics. University spirit is the core of the first one, enterprise organizational culture is the core of the first one, they are working in cross-purposes and shading in each other, which have broadened the content of school culture of private higher school.
