In order to adapt to the social demand of China's regional imbalance in its economic development, solve the contradiction that education and economy is out of line with each other, foster compound talents with the spirit of innovation in the new century, China's education has undergone a historic transformation. Quality Education is carried out in full swing in China. "Without the assistance of teachers and their active participation, no education reform can be successful." The success of education reform is mainly decided by teachers, relying on continuous improve of their professional level. And an effective way to improve the professionalism of teachers is the professional development of teachers.The professional development of teachers is becoming the focus of attention. However, as its main venues, schools have been ignoring its stage characteristic, engaging in "across the board". So school administrators have an urgent need to understand the specific need of professional development for each developing state, to readjust the school management strategy, meet the needs of professional development of teachers at different stages and promote the professional development of teachers as well as the development of schools genuinely.This paper has done a survey on teachers of five development stages about their professional development needs. Through analysis of questionnaires and personal interviews, it understands the specific professional development needs of teachers at various stages from four aspects, the teaching expertise, professional competence, education philosophy and the awareness of self-development, make a comprehensive analysis of commonality and individuality of professional development needs of teachers at various development stages as well as the causes, draw inspiration from them, so as to provide reference and recommendations for school management.This paper is divided into six parts. The first chapter is introduction, putting forward the main questions, defining the core concept, analyzing the current research situation of relative theories at home and abroad. The second chapter is the design and implementation of the research. It mainly introduces the research objectives, content, ideas and methods, giving a detailed introduction of the preparation of the survey questionnaire. Chapter III to V based on the findings of the survey combining relative theories and interviews analyses the specific professional development needs of teachers at the period of adaptation, growing up, sophisticating, stabling and recession on teaching expertise, professional competence, education philosophy and awareness of self-development. The sixth chapter is the general characteristic of teacher professional development needs and its enlightenment. It makes a comprehensive analysis of commonality and individuality of professional development needs of teachers at various development stages as well as the causes, draw inspiration from them, so as to provide reference and recommendations for school management.
