It is urgent to accelerate and enhance the research of continuing teacher education theory and practice for the quality of teachers' comprehensive improvement. As a part of the higher school teacher and nurser of every kind of PE personnel, the higher school PE teacher's strengthening in continuing teacher education plays the inestimable role in China's sports business development.This paper adopted the research methods including literature, questionnaire, interview and so on. It also synthesized teaching theory, psychology, pedagogy, management, and other relevant theoretical knowledge. Aiming at issue of continuing education status quo for PE teachers, I made a thorough and meticulous investigation, comprehensive analysis and study in the basic of preliminary investigation in Jiangxi PE teacher' s knowledge structure capacity. Come to the following conclusions: Most college PE teachers are not in place on connotation of teacher' s continuing education understanding; But most teachers recognized the importance of non-academic education and need to enhance the teaching ability, education and scientific research capabilities; Most teachers believe that continuing education will help the teaching work, but also quite a number of teachers considered that participating in continuing education is not fit for their teaching content; The trainers use instructing as the main teaching method and the appraisal standard they handled is not strict; The outlay of participating in the continuing education, the issue of teacher' s enthusiasm and the training effect is not very well are the main factors constraining continuing education; The current problems need to resolve for teachers is that research capability is relatively weak. The other problems including outdated educational concepts, backward teaching methods, and sports expertise in the issues of aging are also relatively conspicuous.Therefore, in view of these findings, the authors propose the following measures and recommendations: The continuing training for PE teacher should renew the concept, and establish the concept of lifelong learning for teachers; The higher school should use the incentive mechanisms rationally to mobilize college PE teachers in continuing education; The training department should construct scientific and rational course system, improve education assessment system, perfect and regulate the laws of college teacher continuing education system; The government should protect the implementation of the higher school PE teacher' s lifelong continuing education in the form of legislation.
