This article mainly refers to a system as internal organizational form and way of management in university.Chair system inherited the tradition of management in Middle Ages University and had a strong vitality to German university in 19th century.To be an academic organizing system,chair system has an influence on many countries in century 19 and first half of century 20,and contributed to ensure academic freedom and academic level of university.The imbalance of distribution of power within the organization was a well known fact.It represented in many aspects.This imbalance is mainly determinated by the form of internal organization of universities.Although someone think that this imbalance is a normal phenomenon,but the pursue to balance based on homeostasis is a good direction to the enlightment of university.Legimity is an important conception in sociology and politics.It can be ascended to cist epoch.Be along with penetration of theory research,the theory of legitimacy is used in many field in social science.On the basis of review and analysis in many universities in the world,it puts forward new opinions on selection and construction of chair system in Chinese university.Vary from formal research, it stress different law of chair system, widen out the research scope of legitimacy and deepen the comprehension of chair syetem.In this changing world,chair system legitimacy research is an inspiration to the reform and development inside university.The present paper mainly divides into five parts:The first chapter is an introduction, the briefing present paper's selected topic background and the significance, summarize this domain the domestic and foreign research survey, clarified clearly illustrate the research thought and main methods adopted by this thesis.The second chapter,give the conception of chair system and legitimacy,explain the other questions which have relationship with chair system and legitimacy.Pointing out misunstanding and misusing to chair and chair system in teaching,research and administration.The third chapter,analysis the meaning of chair system legitimacy.There are different bases to institutional legitimacy. The legitimacy of the system have different basis,the basis for people to distinguish between the different motives based on both performance as purely internal, may also be of interest for external relations.This paper study on system foundation,academic foundation,traditional culture foundation and the effectiveness fountion to explain how chair system have legitimacy.The fourth chapter,determinant,representation and reason of chair system legitimacy crisis.Using icon to explain the relationship among criteria,legal level, recognize level and stability of chair system.Pointing out the performance of legitimacy crisis that is not suitable for initiating large and syatemized theory; professional division too narrow and not conducive to cultivate broaden horizons for students;the boundaries between chairs are too clear,not subject to exchange knowledge and innovation; Professor with excessive power, lack of supervision,is easy to be Xuefa.This is not conducive to the growth of young scholars. Analysing the legitimacy crisis of chair system,the reason can be summarized as excessive power of Chair Professor,strict grading system,lack of communication and coordination. The fifth chapter,adjusting and reflecting to chair system.In practice,chair system must be chosen through a series of value adjustments in order to maintain its legitimacy.The legitimacy of chair system depended on the historical context, cultural and community members on the basis of historical and cultural value and the status of their real interests.Only based on the most basic reality, chair system can get real-defence.Conclusion,chair system must adjust to the development of society.This can be used for reference to organizing system in university. Organizational system mainly produced in the maintenance of order and modulation of interest.The organizational system can not always be the same,but in a continuous adjustment.With the rapid development of today's society and the idea of development as well as the balance of power changes in the internal organization of University of continuous adjustment,the internal management system of higher education are also changing.Although universities have maintained sensitive to the change.But uncertain factors are too many.Chair system is in the continuous development, from the legitimacy to a crisis of legitimacy, to the crisis of legitimacy based on the reflection and adjustment.This process is not only to their own changes and beyond,but to the university system of organization theory has enriched and developed.Today,chair system still in existence.I believe that chair system will be in excellence with the factors of development and seeking the same system varies with differences of the universities and other organizations,develop different character,in the direction of diversification. Some scholars have concerned about the chair system,but there are not many essays about it.Many of them concentrated on the the history of the system and development path.Few of them studied from a in-depth perspective.In this paper, a research on the basis of historical study,select legitimacy as the the research point,study on the basis of the legitimacy of the system, a crisis of legitimacy and the reason and carried out in-depth analysis and exposition based on the legality of the adjustment.
