The measure of the fundamental standards for child education is if children access to happiness. Different people have different understandings of happiness, as is true with children and adults. By comparing and contrasting children and parents'image on happiness, this study is to call attention to children's happiness so as to provide a thorough and in-depth understanding of it and correct the misunderstandings, and finally propound that child education should give children real happiness.By referring to the content of the image on happiness, the researcher first designed a questionnaire on children's image on happiness, and distributed it twice in four different feature kindergartens and then made a statistical analysis of the collected 208 effective questionnaires, and interviewed 30 pairs of parents and children who were randomly selected from the interviewees and processed the collected data. This study took the methods of incidents combined with tables/diagrams, thus displaying the related information about happiness in parents and children's eyes in a simple and straightforward way. The first four aspects in children's image on happiness, namely, cognition, evaluation, expectation and acquisition of happiness, were extracted and compared, and it was found that children have a very simple understanding of happiness and they are readily content with the current happy life; they tend to evaluate happiness with their own internal experience and they would imagine and try to acquire the happiness through their own efforts. Parents, however, attach more importance to the future happiness of their children and have a very realistic and comprehensive while worldly understanding of it. They tend to judge their children's happiness from their external displaying of emotions and have a clear design of their future development and hold that help from the adults is indispensable to children's happiness. The study then proceeds to analyze the very deep-seated reason for the difference in parents and children's image on happiness lies in the differences in their cognition level, life experiences, relations and status in the society and cultural backgrounds. The study finally gets down to child education and concludes that happiness is the ultimate purpose of child education which should be able to make the children happy. To initiate a model for child education this will ensure this happiness, which will require the concerted efforts of all the parents, children, teachers, and those who pay their attention to children's development. Therefore, some suggestions are put forward at the end of the study to make children happier: to improve children's happiness cognition level, to arrange the happy environment, to enrich the feeling of happiness, to form the happy qualities and finally to build a correct image on happiness.
