The Culture Mission Of University Teachers

The University is a product of the development of human culture, and there is a close link between them. It is a place where gather social culture and idealistic elite, it is also a source and mine of spirit and social civilization. University teachers are the soul of universities. They not only cultivate a large number of high-level persons with ability, but also play a vital role in the history of the development of human civilization.Up to now, we find that when people recall the style of previous university teachers, they are used to turn a blind eye to current ones, why? The popularization of higher education is a trend of historical development, but university teachers shouldn't lose the social responsibility for the future of humanity. The era is changing as well as the content taught by university teachers, but the mission for human and the mission for intellectuals should not be abandoned. What mission do university teachers bear for society and for the development of culture? Based on the above thinking, I try to explore the cultural mission of university teachers.On the basis of the existing research, the paper mainly discusses the cultural mission of university teachers in four aspects: inherit culture, criticize culture, guide culture, and create culture.The development of culture has the nature of historical inheritance, university teachers not only need to pass excellent knowledge and technological culture, what's more, they need to pass spiritual culture, and explain these outstanding culture heritage to the public on the basis of cleaning up them; The progress of human civilization lies in the existence of criticism, university is the center of social criticism, so university teachers should use their rational thinking to question and reflect on the traditional dregs as well as undesirable phenomena of society, consequently, they may carry on furthest criticism; University teachers are not only the guider of students, they should be involved in social and cultural activities, and give full play to their wisdom for the sake of nations and people's interest, they should lead social culture towards a healthy direction while enlightening thought and communicating with people; Creation is the highest form of human power, and a life exhibition. University teachers cherish the realest, best and most beautiful ideal of human being, the form of their creation reflected in their own academic research, university teachers should constantly improve their academic research levels, only in this way, can they better promote the cultural development.In a word, through the exploration of the cultural mission of university teachers, I hope to make myself have a new understanding toward this issue, and expect to arose more scholars'attention, thereby, to promote the unitary build of the university teachers and the development of universities, and to accelerate the development of culture.
