Yan Fu Middle School Concept Study

Modern China was the time that internal and external problems were growing complex, in order to save depositors, power conservation, the Chinese people who advanced at the time, began to seek the truth from the West to save the country, Yan Fu was one of them. As the first person who systematically introduced the western culture to China, Yan Fu's contributions was not only lies in his introduction to a large number of western political, economic, legal, scientific and technological aspects of the books, more importantly, comparing with the western culture, Yan Fu found that there were lots of shortcomings in China's traditional philosophy, politics, education, and other areas. On the base of in-depth analysis, Yan Fu proposed some improvement programs to meet the requirements of modern social development. This article combined with specific social background, systematic interpretation of Yan Fu's concept of Chinese traditional culture by researching of Yan Fu's works and translations, then discussion the modern significance of Yan Fu's thinking.
