Research On Development Of Ideological And Political Education History In Hubei Universities And Colleges

Guided by dialectical and historical materialism,this paper aims to discover the impact of social and historical changes on corresponding ideological and political education in the universities of Hubei Province by means of diachronic research,text reading,interview as well as case study,with particular focus on the evolution from 1978 to 2006.With a systematic outline of the development of ideological and political education in these universities in the recent 30 years,some particular characteristics of Hubei Province have been found out and a detailed analysis is made in order to locate the ideological and political education in these universities in a reasonable way,which is beneficial to the overall ideological and political education. This paper consists of an introduction and 4 chapters.The introduction mainly focuses on the purpose and the significance of this research as well as a literature review at home.The first 3 chapters have been divided into 3 stages in terms of the historical period of ideological and political education,namely,1978-1989(Chapterâ… ), 1989-2002(Chapterâ…¡),2002-2006(Chapterâ…¢).Each chapter develops in a similar logical way with a general survey of the specific social background and the ideological feature of the university students in that period,which is followed by a brief introduction either to the policies of central government or an overview of ideological and political education in universities.Some major events together with the main methods are included in the last part of each chapter.Specifically,the first chapter labors at the period from 1978 to 1989 during which the ideological and political education in universities of Hubei Province was in the course of revival and reconstruction and also proves the twists and turns it experienced by introducing its recovery of the status as a "lifeline",its establishment as a discipline as well as the mistakes in the process of developing.Bringing order out of chaos,activities of the research institute and the operation of theoretical courses on politics have been offered extra emphasis at the same time when the cause of campus upheaval is analyzed.Chapterâ…¡revolves around the period 1989-2002 when the ideological and political education in universities of Hubei Province was in the course of reflection and improvement.Special effort was put to enhance the ideological and political education in China with the influence of market-oriented economy,economic globalization and reform of higher education.A variety of measures ranging from CPC's route education,socialism with Chinese characteristics(Deng Xiaoping's theory)education,patriotism education and quality education have been employed by the universities of Hubei Province.Teaching Reform of Marxist Theory and Political and Ideological Courses in Colleges,cultural activities on campus and social practice are also include,with a highlighted analysis of the impact of market-oriented economy on the college students' mentality and moral education.Chapterâ…¢concerns the period 2002-2006 when exploration and innovation characterizes the ideological and political education in universities of Hubei Province, which has been greatly influenced by the human-oriented concept and scientific outlook on development.In order strengthen the ideological and political education of college students,universities in Hubei Province took advantages of civic education, mental health education and construction of CPC among students by means of teaching reform of ideological and political courses,improvement of networks and corresponding staff.In this chapter,the great influence of Internet on the ideological and political education is illustrated in details.Chapterâ…£provides an analysis of the development of ideological and political education in universities of Hubei Province during the past 30 years,summarizing the achievements as well as discovering the features.A further discussion is put on the tendency,value orientation and function extension of ideological and political education for college students.
