The quality of the students in secondary vocational schools has dropped down apparently since high schools expanded their enrollment.The students are facing two contradictions:the contradiction between their insufficient state of study preparation and the requirement of the curriculum,the contradiction between their nowadays study abilities and the lifelong study abilities.This situation has put forward a new question before the teachers in secondary vocational schools:What methods should be adopted to solve these contradictions?During the study of the teaching materials,students should undergo four periods: sensing teaching materials and forming ideas,comprehending teaching materials and forming conception,consolidate knowledge and remain them in memory,utilize knowledge and forming skills.But students often find difficulties when they come to the second period,and the next two periods are even more difficult for them to achieve.A gap must be found here ! As we know,reading can help them to sense teaching materials and form ideas,then what kind of study strategy can help them to comprehend teaching materials and form conception? NOTES.As only notes can make the invisible thinking activities visible through the characters written in the note book.The Five- level-coding should be encoded in order to show the layers of the knowledge;the note with Five -level- coding should be evaluated in order to strengthen this learning strategy and in order to develop the ability of lifelong learning.The Evaluation of notes with Five-Level-Coding is the evaluation of the quality of the notes.The content of the notes is the summary of the teaching material, Five-level-coding refers to the numbers of the chapter,section,part,paragraph and unity of the teaching material.The evaluation on the notes is a kind of formative evaluation.The Evaluation of notes with Five-level-coding can be divided into three processes: the reading period of the teaching material before class,the note-taking period of the teaching material before class,and the evaluation period in class.The evaluation period in class serves for the former two periods before class,therefore The Evaluation of notes with Five-level-coding is the evaluation of the pre-learning period.The significance of this research can be explained as follows:the microscopic significance is that it meets the requirement of individual development,the mediumscoped significance is that it meets the requirement of the teaching reforming in secondary vocational schools,the macroscopic significance is that it meets the requirement of the all-around quality education. The creativities may be summarized as follows:one creativity is learning method because of the five level coding of the notes,the other is teaching method because of evaluation of pre-learning.The literature reviews discuss reading,note-taking,cognitive strategy,autonomous learning and educational evaluation.Because the Evaluation of Notes with Five-level-coding relates closely to them,and few literature named with the Evaluation of notes with Five-Level-Coding or Notes-taking is found either in electronic resources or in book resources.An educational experiment is conducted in order to test the research hypothesis during 3 months.It is verified that the Evaluation of notes with Five-level-coding can improve the learning achievements very remarkably.The teaching method of the Evaluation of Notes with Five-Level-Coding can be popularized in secondary vocational schools.
