Research On The Relationship Between Subject And Object Of Management By Objectives In Higher Education Institutions

In recent years, Management by Objectives has been an exploration by which universities try to achieve goals effectively. For higher education institutions, the introduction of Management by Objectives, not only means the change of management tools, but also has special significance for the school administration to achieve scientific management. Management by Objectives in higher education institutions is a complicated and systematic project. It contains four stages, namely goal achievement, goal implementation, goal inspection and goal feeding-back. In this complex process, the administrators, as the subject of MBO, have a close relationship with the object, namely departments and institutes.This paper firstly introduces the conceptions of subject and object as well as their relationship from the philosophy, the pedagogy and the management science, and gets a summary that the relationship between the subject and object in MBO in higher education institutions should be mutually depend, restrict, transform and promote. Then we have conducted the investigation and study to several domestic universities which once implemented or are implementing the Management by Objectives. Based on the analysis, this paper concludes the present relationship between the subject and the object in the current university Management by Objectives process. Following we construct the essential target of harmonious relationship between subject and object in MBO in higher education institutions by using relevant theories, which in university Management by Objectives. Finally we construct the practice strategy of it.This article research has the following characteristics. Firstly, it analyzes the relationship between the subject and the object from multiple perspectives, so it has certain novelty. Secondly, it selects the weak link, namely the relations of subject and object in university Management by Objectives research, thus it has certain originality. Thirdly, it combines empirical research and theoretical analysis, therefore it has certain credibility.
