Research And Analysis On The Current Situation Of Basketball Coaches In The Colleges Of Jiangsu

The coaching skills and abilities of basketball coaches are an essential guarantee for improving individual players' skills and tactics as well as the overall ability of the whole team. Based on relative literature, surveys and expert interviews, using mathematic statistics and logical analysis, etc, this paper comes to the conclusion:1. the college basketball coaches in Jiangsu province are mainly young and mid-aged male P.E. teachers in each college. They have higher education but less experiences in games, short time as coaches, less coaching experience, which means them haveto accumulate knowledge and experiences i n an all-round.2. Coaching capacity situation: Although coaches are dedicated, the master degreeof basketball rules is general, the training ability is lower, ignored to the development and implementation of long-term training programme, training methods and means is simple and the level is lower.3. Scientific research capabilities: Coaches' ability of writing thesis is good, but that of using the scientific auxiliary equipment training, summing up after classes, publishing treatise and scientific research ability still needs improving.4. Management: The main form of the job is one person for one position. Most of them have no time limit of post, and improve the ability relying mainly on self-teaching.5. Evaluation: Coaches' self-evaluate themselves as outstanding in thinking, psychological and professional qualities, full of interest in the training, but thy fell too much work pressure.Suggestions :(1)Evoke basketball coaches initiative, (2)Bring up high-quality coaches, (3)Develop and improve policies and regulations system for the college coach, (4) Enhance the level of capability of existing staff, (5)Help the college basketball coaches develop their quality, ability, establish competition guidelines and training consciousness, (6) Perfect the post setup of coaches.
