How to make the students learn effectively has become a focus problem to modern educators. Nowadays, mind mapping has been a popular teaching pattern all over the world as a diagrammatic one. Based on the similarity between thinking map and thinking pattern of the brain, mind map can present knowledge directly and vividly, present the relation of knowledge effectively, reflect students' mind procedure, which contributes to directing students' construction of the meaning, and get full-developed rapidly. Therefore, the study on brain, learning and the development of mind mapping will advance learning procedure and enhance teaching quality effectively.Overall and systematic revision is a key link in senior high physics learning, which demands that students should have a whole and systematic physics knowledge system and form the links between knowledge points, thus promoting students' multiple qualities and abilities. The research aims at helping students learn how to construct knowledge frame and system after a certain unit is finished and some knowledge points are taught by the introduction to the learning approach ?mind mapping into physics overall and systematic revision in senior III. Meantime, students can make cooperative learning by using mind mapping and gradually grasp the differences and relations between knowledge points by careful observation in the course of making mind mapping, trying to find the relation of knowledge points never to be found and achieving the goal of innovative learning by innovative understanding to knowledge. In the course of finishing making mind mapping, students develop their diffuse thinking ability and innovation ability by digesting physics knowledge they have learned. By means of the organic combination of mind mapping and physics systematic revision, students are able to improve revision effect, enhance revision efficiency, form a whole physics knowledge system, and strengthen students' physical thinking ability.The research was carried out in Zhuozhou Middle School, Hebei province from July, 2006 to April, 2007. All the subjects were selected from class 13 and class 14 in senior 3. During the research, each student was intended to find the links between the knowledge points, and create a construction of knowledge network after class by understanding and grasp of key knowledge points in each unit and each chapter, using mind map. In the meantime, students were expected to combine the former knowledge with the present knowledge and pay more attention to the knowledge in detail in creating the whole knowledge construction. Then group discussion was made to finish mind map for the contents assigned in each group. The following methods such as explanation, consultation and correction between members are needed. At last, group competition was created by means of putting up and showing.In the last 8 experimental months, mind mapping was applied to each link of overall physics revision in senior 3. By making full use of its advantage, students in experimental class were directed to construct knowledge frame and system better, thus setting up a set of complete, entire mind mapping and forming systematic knowledge system in senior high physics overall revision.This experiment that based the application of mind mapping on senior high physics overall revision explored the applied approaches, effects and some problems that should be paid attention to in application by questionnaire, interview, and statistics analysis. The result of the experiment showed that the overall revision method of combining mind mapping with senior high physics is an effective one because it can fully arouse students' physics learning motivation, make the students form whole senior physics knowledge network and system effectively, cultivate students' diffuse thinking ability and enhance students' revision effects.
