Entering into the zlst centuiy, education is experiencing great changes in the necessary trend that the complex taledts with competitive consciousness, cretive spirit and full development should be trained. The 16th congress put forward the improvent of national health quality as one of the striving goals for fully establishing a well-off society.P.E.education in middle school, as an important part of education, plays the greatest role in effectively imporving the students'heslth quality and making balanced development from every aspect, such as moral, intellectual, physical, easthetics and labour education. So P.E.education is one necessary factor. In order to do P.E.education very well, the key point is to improve P.E.teachers'own knowledge and that P.E.teachers fully play their education role.《China educational reform and develops the summary》pionts out:"The hope to rejuvenate nation relies on education; The hope to rejuvedate education relies on teachers."P.E.education in middle school is an important part of basic education. Whether the modern complex talents with virtue and talent, excellent health quality and ample energy can be cultivated mainly depends on the P.E.teachers. So it is an important measure to pay great attention to the cultivation of P.E.teachers'knowledg and quality. And optimizing P.E.teachers'knowledg structure is one of the important contents in cultivating teacher'quality. The renewing of knowledge and diversifying of talents demand that P.E.teachers must re-establish their own whole quality. Knowledge structure of P.E.teachers in middle school should gradually conform the need of society and education, renew their traditional ideas, gradually study new knowledge in order to conform to the education development of 21st century.Because cities are the front of education reform, P.E.teachers there often get the latest information for the first time. It has a great significance to examine P.E.teachers'knowledge structure in cities, because the research helps us understand whether P.E.teachers can follow tightly the pace of education reform to improve their own knowledge structure. Throngh thorough and deep investigation, some problems about knowledge structure of P.E.teachers are found; some constructive suggestions are made in order to improve the work of P.E.education in our province to conform to the development of education and to exert P.E.teachers'special role.Based on the research result of the formers, by using documentation methods,Survey methodology,Statistical methods of data, etc,and taking P.E.teachers in middle school in cities in Hebei province as research objects, the thesis puts forward the construction of P.E.teachers'knowledge structure in the new age, and makes thorough and careful investigation and analysis to the present case of the knowledgge structure of P.E.teachers in large and medium-sized cities in Hebei province, finally makes such conclusion as follows:(1) Through analysis and research, it is concluded that the knowledge structure of P.E.teachers should consist of 3 parts: common basic knowledge, Sports disciplines expertise and Physical Education subject knowledge.(2) Concerning the knowledge structure of P.E.teachers, grasp the knowledge of sports theory and technology as well as applced physical knowledge in sport disciplines expertise and physical education sbject knowledge better than other aspects; basic knowledge,body science and the knowledge of physical social humanities have much room for improvement.(3) As P.E.teachers in middle school in large and mediun-sized cities, they should follow the steps of education reform in mew age and improve their own knowledge structure from several aspects as follows: to strengthen teachers'study of common and basic knowledge and improve their whole quality and cultivate research ability; to add new sport items to academic courses, such as Yoga,Tennis,Climbing and Taekwondo,etc, in order to adapt to the need of P.E. course in modern society; to renew traditional ideas and set up modern teaching ideas to adapt to the development of P.E.education in th 21st century; to strengthen Scientific nature, contemporaneity and effectiveness of P.E.education, to optimize teaching content for P.E.education in middleschool; to break traditional teaching progrom which takes athletics sports as the main part and to properly deal with the link of knowledge between"Theory Course"and"Technology Course".
