Cultivating students' metacognitive ability is an important method to let them know how to study and improve their study ability, an indispensable request to make them adapt to lifelong study, also one of the important purposes of the curriculum reform of current basic education in our country. This thesis casts back the thought origin of metacognition, and summarizes the relevant theory of metacognition involving the concept, structure, characteristics and function etc. The paper discusses the influence of enhancing students'metacognitive ability from two respects, the chemical study ability and the new curriculum reform. According to the approaches and methods of metacognitive ability cultivation and considering the practice ,I design the method and model of cultivating and training students' metacognitive ability.During this study, I adopt some research methods ,such as experiment, inquisition, case study etc, and apply both teaching cultivation and metacognitive training manners to the teaching practice. In the end, I'll evaluate the cultivation effect and analyze existent problem according to the content of the conversation with case students and the results of investigation .The results of the study show:1,The metacognitive ability in chemistry study is the capability of self-observation, self- conscioussness, self-supervision ,self-accommodation, and self-reflection and evaluation, which can be formed by cultivating and training in chemistry teaching.2,On the basis of researching the metacognitive theory and the methods of cultivation, this paper puts forward three points to improve students'chemistry metacognitive ability:â‘ Deepen the understanding and comprehension to the metacognition ;â‘¡Master methods of cultivating and training metacognition;â‘¢Attach importance to making a reasonable teaching design. 3,The way of chemistry teaching cultivation is effective to cultivate student's metacognitive ability. The cultivation plan is able to improve students'metacognition in the course of study and problem solving of chemistry.4,Bring forward the metacognitive training method and model that combine cognition strategy and the exterior study method with metacognitive adjustment and control activity . This method and model have been proved effective to play an important role in improving students'metacognitive ability.
