Metacognitive ability is a kind of ability to realize and control learner owner's cognitive activity,It not only can teach learner how to learn, but also can promote their capabilities of independent thinking, problem solving and self-exploration.A person with a higher metacognitive ability not only to avoid being eliminated by the times, but also can learn better to adapt to this changing world.All areas of the information age are undergoing radical changes in depth.New historical status has new demands to politics,economy and education,Education ushered in new opportunities, at the same time,is facing new challenges.Regrettably,Existing education still has a strong color of traditional education.Teaching methods and models are mechanical and inflexible, evaluation mechanism are rigid and single, leading to the learner's subjectivity and initiative can not be effectively played.Digital Game with the characteristics of Entertainment and educational is a product of the information age.It not only can greatly stimulate learner's motivation and interest in learning,but also has more entertaining,so it beneficial to impart knowledge and develop skills.Therefore, the use of educational games for Adolescent cultivating metacognitive ability has a great theoretical and practical significance.This study combines the characteristics of the digital education games and the training methods of metacognitive ability, based on research methods, such as literature analysis method and so on. In order to promote the metacognitive ability of teenagers, the game development tools are selected for designing and developing game what the theme is metacognitive ability. The research work of this paper focuses on the following four aspects.(1)The foundation theoretical research of digital game for cultivating the adolescent metacognitive ability.On the basis of reading a lot of related literatures, detailed elaborating of metacognitive theory, educational game design theory,explore and implement game design for cultivating metacognitive ability.(2)The construction of instructional design framework of digital game for cultivating metacognitive ability of teenagers. By analyzing of teaching strategies, get key elements and features of teaching strategies. On the basis of design of foreign excellent case,analyzing the effective integration ofmetacognitive performance, knowledge and educational games In the game of the activities,as well as the basic elements and structure of game case.Finally, the research builds instructional design framework of digital game to cultivate metacognitive ability for teenagers.(3)The design and development of the digital game instance. On the basis of analyzing Instructional design model and related conceptions about game. We have combined with the selected subject contents to develop game by using related software, such as RPG Maker XP, and Photoshop.(4)The research of application of digital game.The game that developed is tested. We select corresponding learners to using digital game, analyzing the results then improving this game.With searching and analyzing the related literatures, the paper has consulted the valuable views. With a series of works, this study made the following achievements.(1)This study define the concepts carefully mentioned in this study, and also make a detailed explanation and instructions.This study explain Systematically the metacognitive theory and related theoretical basis for laying Foundation to Selecting junior high school mathematics teaching content and designing and developing of educational games.(2)This study construct an instructional design framework of digital game for cultivating metacognitive ability of teenagers.Comprehensive educational game design theory and development process, designing teaching activities from the aspects of learning objectives, learners, learning content,on the basis of the construction of instructional design framework,realizing the certainty at the macro and refinement at the micro.(3)This study design and develop a digital game instance for cultivating metacognitive ability of teenagers. This game was called "Polar Escape", and designed based on the book of Mathematics by RPG Maker XP and Photoshop. The game supports this study.Although the development of the game can highlight the initial research ideas and intentions, there are also many problems and flaws due to the limit of time and development on the level of competence. Future research work should focus on that. Making efforts to refine and improve the integrations of metacognitive theory,teaching and educational game in the aspects of approach, presentation methods and strategies.
