Higher education of China has developed from a phase of elite-oriented to that of a commonage-oriented. Thereby, it has become a necessary choice that setting up a sense of diversified quality of higher education evaluation. With rapid expanding of higher education, education quality has become the spotlight of the government, society and people at this period. On the basis of diversified quality sights, there is no doubt that higher education evaluation is the foremost measure to assist the government to supervise the instructing quality of advanced schools, and prompt higher schools to improve teaching quality to strengthen the connotative development power of themselves.Since 1985, China has probed into long-term practice of higher schools education evaluation, in which it was one of the most widely impactful instructing evaluations on higher schools that implemented in 2003.The first-round of instructing level evaluation of undergraduate schools in china will be completed in first semiyear of 2008.According to personal participation of the practice, the author of this thesis, holding the idea of summarizing experiences, mending deficiencies and promoting instruction, have researched the instructing level evaluation of undergraduate schools in china in order to make some suggestions and countermeasures for next-run instructing evaluation of undergraduate schools. This article begins with setting up diversified quality sights in the commonage-oriented age of higher education, and then asserts that implementing instructing evaluation is a pivotal measure to ensure and improve the instructing quality of higher education in this background. On the foundation of systematically introducing the basic theory, significance and characteristics of higher education evaluation, this paper analyzes and investigates the vital significance and practicing course of higher school instructing evaluation in China. With relevant questionnaires, evaluation cases ,and analysis and comparison of varied evaluation indexes and systems, this essay also summarizes the practice effects of the evaluation of this time and points out the existed deficiencies. Especially contraposing the existed problems in this run of evaluation, this paper advances a concrete thought for the next-run of undergraduate schools instructing evaluation from the aspects of evaluation as follows: request, guidance, mechanism, indexes, project and organization, etc.
