This thesis consists of nine parts, including six main bodies, introduction, concluding remarks and appendix.Introduction: I explain the origin of this study and review the research history of this problem. In addition, I introduce historical materials and research manner ,and point out some problems about this paper.Chapter one: In the first place, author analyzes the historical background of Teacher Education in Peking and Zhili province, and then inspects different grade and different sort Normal Education at length.Chapter two: Author inquires into the problem of funds from different angles, such as raising money and the source of funds, management, allocation and use.Chapter three: Author inspects the use of teaching material. In this thesis, it is defined as textbook, lecture note, teaching aid that includes instrument, equipment and sample.Chapter four: This consists of two parts. In the first part, it introduces the establishment of courses. In the next part, it introduces the teaching states, including teaching method and extracurricular activities.Chapter five: This consists of three parts. The first part is about teachers. Author comprises the origin and constitution of teachers, treatment, management, teacher's quality and level. The second part is about students, which involves the origin and the entrance examination of students, treatment, management, students'think, studying atmosphere, studying and test, job assignment on graduation and so on. In the last part author describes the relationship of teachers each other and the relationship between teachers and students.Chapter six: Author analyzes the actual effect of Normal Education and conclude that it pushes forward the metabolism of society in Peking and Zhili province. The new jumbles up the old, and the new struggles with the old.Concluding remarks: Basing on above chapters author sums up Peking and Zhili's Teacher Education in the last ten years of Qing Dynasty.Appendix: The brief biography of some normal characters in Zhili province.
