Financial literacy is not only an important part of survival literacy but also an essential quality of every person in today's society, which directly relates to the development and lifelong happiness of human beings. Now we are living in the society of socialist market economy, production, exchange, distribution and consumption are the basic contents of life. So our education should teaches students how to survive in the market economy society. Students in primary and high school taught with financial education is not the necessary and urgent requirement with the development of society and the nation, but also the need for our country joining the international competition in future. Some developed countries in the world pay much attention to the financial education of primary and high school students, especially in America, financial education is called " a happy lifelong plan carried out from three years old", it has explored certain financial education curriculum and get efficient result. Therefore, the dissertation tries to learn from the concrete practices of financial education and curriculum in American primary and high schools in order to fill this blank.This thesis provides certain constructional suggestion for Chinese financial education and curriculum by introducing the present situation of financial education and curriculum in American primary and high schools, including education aim and policy, diversity of curriculum content and model, and other resource supporting the financial education curriculum. At first, the thesis defines financial education and financial education curriculum which show the research achievement in this field of our country. In field of financial education and curriculum in primary and high schools, because there exists few schools having financial education and curriculum, and most of scholars and teachers are strange to it, so the second part introduces education aim and policy of financial education curriculum from the macroscopic angle. The third and forth part do research into the diversity of curriculum content and model, and other resource supporting the financial education curriculum. The last part of the thesis comes back to the prersent situation in our country, analyzes the reason for existing problems and indicates the disparity between America and China by comparing, meanwhile offers enlightments for the exploitation of financial education curriculum in Chinese primary and high schools.
