Why Ding-ding Chose Home-schooling?

This is a Qualitative Research, which has centered on the question of "why Ding-ding chose home-schooling", apperceiving the alienation of education through a home-schooling case.Nowadays, education receives critics from all the circles as it is becoming more and more significant, the critics focus on the alienation of education, that is to say, it was education that turns students to be machines for exams.This study illustrates and analyzes the home-schooling case, employing the qualitative research paradigm, penetrating the subtle connections of teachers \parents and students in school field from a microcosmic vision, and reflecting the alienation of education exposed in school education further.This study includes three parts:The first part (introduction): mainly regarded the significance and the method of this study, the research process as well, and summarized the studies about "home-schooling" and "alienation of education". The concept of "alienation of education" is found and underlined in the process of study, digging up from the native concept "deteriorated".The second part (chapter1-3): made narrative research on "why Ding-ding chose home-schooling", tracing and reproducing the course and reason of Ding-ding's home-schooling. This part is composed by 3 chapters: Chapter 1, traced the reason of Ding-ding's home-schooling through interviewing interrelated person. Ding-ding's father is discontent with the present schooling, especially discontent with Teacher An-mei, considering schooling is deteriorated, namely, alienation of education. Chapter 2, went deep into the school, collected materials by interviewing, observing, collecting objects and so on, presenting students' existence condition in the school; Chapter 3, narrated the education story about Ding-ding around the graduated-examination.Third part (chapter4-5): analyzed the causes and logical relation which lead to Ding-ding's home-schooling according to categorization. It is seemingly that the fundamental cause of Ding-ding's home-schooling is the conflict between ideal of education and alienation of education, as well as the motivating factor is the encounter of Ding-ding's father and Teacher An-mei. Thus we come to a conclusion: the alienation of education is universal, while home-schooling is accidental, at the same time, we answered the question "why Ding-ding chose home-schooling".The key question of this study is "why Ding-ding chose home-schooling". Moreover, the author gave a brief summary of alienation of education, and made some suggestions about solving the alienation of education in the end, appealing to all teachers to challenge the status quo of society and schooling. However, as a qualitative research, the endless meanings and enlightenments are more in the detailed narrative and analysis.
