For a long time, the history had indicated that algebra is assuredly considered as the science about equation, it was thought like this leastways before 19th century, equation would be bethought certainly when algebra was mentioned. About simple equation, the form of it is very comparatively simple, but from arithmetic to simple equation, it is, a overflight of the cognizance of human, true understanding of human on the problem from concrete to abstract. Simple has special function, we should strengthen the teaching of simple equation, to strengthen further investigation of its thoughtway. This paper try to investigate pupil's elementary investigation on the cognizance of simple equation, and analyse the result of investigation.The final paper mainly consists of five parts:The preface of the first chapter introduces the origins of this paper, and makes the literature summary, thereinto makes the limits to several places.The second chapter is research method, questionnaire design and investigation course. The primary investigation methods are literature method,questionnaire method and visitation method, the questionnaire design primarily introduces its intention, the investigation course narrates the concrete implementation of it.The third chapter is the analysis about problems. Primarily composed of four segments,srudents's cognizance on the concept of equation,on the letter number,on the simple equation and on the application subject of line equation, make the conclusion on the bases of horizontal analysis and vertical analysis on the students.The fourth chapter is case study. This chapter mostly makes separate visiting on the students and teachers, understand the things which cannot be revealed truly in the questionnaire during the process of students's cognizance on the simple equation.The fifth chapter is conclusion advice. Summarize the primary problems during the process of students's cognizance on the simple equation, conclude the factors which affect the students on the cognizance of the simple equation, and bring forward some advice on the teaching of simple equation in the elementary school.
