The Coordinated Development Of Gansu Higher Education And Its Regional Economic Study

Along with economic globalization and the internationalization of higher education developing rapidly , university is more closely related to the regional economic, the social development etc. University has already walked towards from the margins of society to the centre of the community,also,becoming a drive for comprehensive, coordinated social development of society, which has become the consensus of all countries in the world. In order to win an absolute advantage in the future international competition, university must be closer together with the national economic and social development, constantly absorbing the nutrients needed for development from the society , at the same time,it should use the training of qualified personnel, knowledge creation and technological innovation to repay society. So theirs interaction and coordinated development will be realized ultimately.Gansu Province is an important gateway in the northwest China, the development level of its regional economic and society directly influences the development of the western region of China's strategy ,and the achievement of great success of the grandgoal------building a well-off society.Today,there is a change in Gansu regionaleconomy.Gansu people have great expectations for the higher education level ,which has brought tremendous challenges and opportunities to the development of higher education .Gansu Colleges must optimize its structure and improve the capability of independent innovation and the quality of the training ,to adapt to Gansu regional economic and social development in popularization of higher education requirements and needs, and alao should take the initiative to achieve coordinated development with the regional economic ,society etc.In this study, we use"the coordinated development of Gansu higher education and its regional economic study" as its theme, with a view to explore how to achieve benign development between higher education and regional economy ,and to achieve economic takeoff and the healthy development of higher education and personnel training objectives in western regions ,where the economic and higher education are under-developed. So, the proposition bases on the establishment and development of third function of the university ,to explore theoretical foundation between higher education and the development of regional interaction from the perspectives of development economics, new theories of economic growth ,educational sociology, and other interdisciplines.It analyzes successful coordinated developed cases of foreign higher education with their regions,and the practice situations of national higher education with their regions in economically developed areas.This study gains supports from theoretical and practical basis ,and it takes empirical analysis to the realities of higher education and regional economy in Gansu.Finally it comes to the conclusions that there is a mutual imbalance between them.The study analyzes the reasons for the imbalance in the development of the two, and based on it to give strategies and recommendationse to Coordinated development of higher education ,regional economy, and society in Gansu.
