Research On The Coordinative Development Between Higher Education And Regional Economy In Hubei Province

With the advent of knowledge economy, the development of regional higher education and regional economy are connected more and more closely. On the one hand, the regional economy is the material base of the higher education and restricts its development. On the other hand, the regional higher education is the strong power of the development of regional economy and promotes it. The coordinated development between the regional higher education and regional economy is not only the necessary and historical requirement of social development, but also the objective requirement of current economy development. Nowadays, the Central Government is carrying out the grand central development program. The regional higher education must play a very important role in regional economy development, so that the Hubei Province may make to the leading position in the rising strategy of central China. The development of the higher education and the regional economy in Hubei Province are connected closely day by day. How to achieve the coordination between the two above is an important issue which is worthy of our studying.This thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter mainly describes the reasons of selected topic, the meaning of research, academic methodology and research methods. The second chapter firstly describes the concept, and then analyzes the adaptation theory of regional higher education and the coordinated development theory between the regional higher education and regional economy in order to provide the theory evidences of coordinated development between higher education and regional economy. By analyzing its current scale and structure of regional higher education and the regional economy and applying the simple Pearson correlation coefficient analysis and factor analysis to estimating the coordination between the higher education and regional economy, the third chapter draws the conclusion that economy development is currently lagging behind the higher education in Hubei province and its reasons. According to the reasons and current status of the coordinated development between the regional higher education and regional economy in Hubei province, the fourth chapter proposes some relative strategies to promote the coordinated development between the regional higher education and regional economy.
