Ma Zongrong was a celebrated social educator of our country .His social education thoughts includes the social education epistemology, tenability, teleology, curriculum system, the methodology, the official mechanism system, the wartime social education system and the operation of social education of the school and so on. Ma Zongrong believed that, from human being's full scale development, progress of the society, the current political situation of modern China., China must carry out social education. He advocated equal education opportunity and all the people, overall, lifelong education idea. His social education thought should be based on the whole people, and has the explicit goal and the guidance to realize the perfect of social education institution facility as well as the diversification and modernization of educational method. Ma Zongrong's social education thought not only has the comprehensive requirement, also has the importance of implementation. His wartime social education system supported that, the Anti-Japanese War was long lasting, so the social education had the special historic task in this stage, that is, around Anti-Japanese War and foundation of a nation these two big subjects, raised national cohesive force and the battle efficiency. During the situation of inefficiency of finance, the school was engaged in carrying out social education conforming to the Anti-Japanese War time national condition, and was feasible in spreading promotion of social education.The social education thought of Ma Zongrong expanded the social education scope, the object and content in the certain degree, and provided a concrete implementation plan of social education practice, and furthermore, made a great contribution to the deepening, theorizing, the concretization of social education, and played a positive role in popularizing and initiating education in that time. His education thought promoted the turning of the Chinese tradition education to modern education reforming. Ma Zongrong combined the social education theory with society, nation and all the people. It manifested the profound judgment, intense social sense of responsibility and the national sense of hardship as an educator. His related social education theory and the practice until now still have the model significance. The same as the other social ideological trend, Ma Zongrong's social education thought, duing to China's unique social reality, didn't have a full understanding of modern China's basic question impoverished with the oppression which lied in the inequality of the class, so it can't solve the economical and political disadvantages of China fundamentally.
