Under the impact of the economic globalization in the modern world, the tendency of the internationalization of education has become more obvious. The international schools, which appeared in the 1920s, have developed vigorously all over the world. Since the development of the international schools in China has been in the relatively short time, people have very limited knowledge about the international schools and their curricula. The thesis introduces the international schools comprehensively and systematically, and analyzes the high school's curricula deeply by focusing on IBDP. It's expected to provide a certain of basic information for the domestic study of the related research field, and bring some new ideas to the development of ordinary high school's curriculum in China.The thesis consists of four parts as follows.Introduction: Elaborate briefly the aim, the meaning, the methods of the research, and the status quo of the research, then define two concepts of international schools and IBDP.Chapter I: The emergence and status quo of the international schools. This chapter introduces and analyzes the international schools systematically, mainly at the aspect of the idea of running school, the classification, the characteristics and the status quo of the development of the the international schools as a whole.Chapter II: The categories and the overall characteristics of high school's curricula of the international schools. This chapter states the categories of the high school's curricula of the international schools, including the "exported" curricula, the "adapted" curricula and the "integrated" curricula. On the basis of that, the chapter concludes and analyzes the overall characteristics of the high school's curricula of the international schools, such as paying great attention to the selectivity, penetrating the idea of international understanding for education, and the graduation diploma or the certificate of the curricula always have the widespread recognition.Chapter III: The aim, content and the assessment of the curriculum of IBDP. The curriculum of IBDP has the comprehensive content and strict assessment system. It includes six subject groups and three core elements. The model of the assessment can be divided into internal and external assessment.Chapter IV: The analysis and enlightenment of the main features of the curriculum of IBDP. The curriculum of IBDP penetrates the idea of international understanding for education completely, focuses on cultivating the students' ability of critical thinking and attaches importance to the internal assessment. For the ordinary high school's curriculum in China, it's very necessary to pay great attention to cultivate truly the attitude and spirit of international understanding of the students, to cultivate the ability of critical thinking of the students and to improve the assessment system.
