Sympathy is the core component of sociality character, and it plays a very important role in individual's sociality development. In the field of moral education, the study of sympathy has become a major thread of researching on the development of moral sentiments, which impacts the moral education theory and practice.This study conceives a measured structure of primary school pupils' sympathy. We use situational methods to do experiments on the first and second grade pupils, and we make up a questionnaire on the development of third to sixth grade pupils' sympathy. We make a more objective assessment on the development of primary school pupils' sympathy.The study found that measured structure of primary school pupils' sympathy includes three dimensions of sympathy expriencing, understanding and behaviors. Another result shows that a gender difference in three dimensions of sympathy of the first and second grade pupils is not remarkable. The difference in the sympathy experiencing of the first and second grade pupils is not remarkable, but the second grade students make a remarkable higher score on the sympathy understanding and behaviors than the first grade students. The third to sixth grade primary school pupils' scores on the sympathy experiencing, understanding and behaviors and the whole score of the sympathy has a lower trend along with the increase of grade. The third to sixth grade primary boys and girls make the highest score on the sympathy understanding, and the sore on the sympathy experiencing is the lowest in the three dimensions of sympathy. The average score of girls on the three dimensions of sympathy are higher than those of boys, that is, girls' and boys' scores in all dimensions of sympathy are significantly different.Based on the findings, the following three education proposals are brought forward:1,Raising pupils' sympathy understanding ability.2,Promote the development of pupils' sympathy experiencing.3,Develop pupils' sympathy behaviors in practical activities.
