The article regards the theses studied by the normal universities home and abroad as its research object, which are based upon the selected 436 relevant dissertations. The approach adopted is to collect the data and then made a classified study according to the current situation and result of the research at different periods, during which three phases are classified, 1980-1989 is the first phase, 1990-1999 the second, 2000-2006 the third.Firstly, the current situation of the normal universities research is analyzed in time in view of their time distribution, sources, subjects and approaches, then a comparison is made between normal universities research's current situation to find out the differences in these aspects between these universities.Secondly, a theory framework is set based upon the analysis of the contents by relevant dissertations consultation and after repeated deliberations and consultations. More emphasis is put on the relationship between the overall situation and the changes of time as well as the relationship between the sources and the study party.Thirdly, after many discussions about the current situation and result of the study carried on by the normal universities for nearly thirty years, my own view is proposed accordingly. Finally, after synthesizing the outcome of the analysis and discussion of the current situation and result of the research, I put forward my point of view, generalize the disadvantages of the research of the dissertations and furthermore offer an outlook for the research.
