| General education is one kind of educational concepts and practice,which originates from western society and has influenced east-west educational thoughts far-reaching;As a rich content,multi-dimensional and multi-stage historical scope, which shows different characteristics of the different historical periods.Research on general education in Chinese university is not the abstract phenomenon,which has a profound theoretical basis.It absorbs the main ideas of Marxist Engels personal comprehensive and free development thought,the western liberal education thoughts, humanistic education thoughts and contemporary Chinese general education.It is the results of reflecting the issues in Chinese university education practice on the view of the globalization after absorbed those thoughts,which is also the first attempt to upgrade the university education theory gradually through reflecting the results of practice.On the view of globalization,we consider that there will be some conspicuous issues with the general education standards to research it,which exist in the conflict between traditional education conception and general education conception,which exist in the disconnection of the book knowledge and study practice,exist in the passive teaching methods which only focuses on instilling the book knowledge into the students and lack the teaching atmosphere which stresses initiative and self-study,which exist in the knowledge tests only pay attention to the memory of the knowledge and lack the effective education assessment mechanism to assess the students practice ability,and so on.Education is the product of social development,but also the important tool to promote social progress.Contemporary Chinese universities only fulfill the general education system in order to embody their social values,so the system construction of general education is the important measure of educational reform.General education in contemporary Chinese universities must construct on the new system,which pursuing genuineness,goodness and beauty—trinity educational value;integrating the science and humanities knowledge in general education contents;strengthening practice, cultivating the students' awareness and abilities of self-study,and enhancing the research capabilities of the specific teaching patterns in general education;establishing education evaluation mechanisms which purse the content for human comprehensive development.In order to practice the ideal system of general education and solve the issues of general education in contemporary Chinese universities,we must reform the areas in education value,curriculum setting,teaching patterns and evaluation mechanisms.Only in this way,we can enhance the education overall level of Chinese universities,promote the sound development of Chinese universities and realize the objectives of fostering talents,then adapt to the development of economic globalization rapidly. |
