As an important subject in school education, physical education's function of increasing the youth's constitution, cultivating their volition and promoting the next generation's health can not be neglected. With the approach to information era and knowledge economics, our P.E teaching has witnessed great changes under the situation. Published in June 13th 1999, Chinese State Department's Decision on furthering educational reform and expanding accomplishment education indicates:"healthy physical body is a basic condition for serving people and the country, and an embodiment of the nation's bloom life. School education should set the goal health first as the guideline and enhance physical education."Particularly since the implementation of Criterion of Physical Education and Health Courses, the Criterion provides a good chance to reform school physical education completely and systematically.Teachers are the direct practioners in the process of teaching. Working as teachers, they know the real situation clearly and their words are credible. Their cognition, acceptance and practice to new courses are important to promote teaching reform. Teaching behavior is teachers'life style in teaching, teachers'professional behavior, and entity of teaching activity, formation of teaching activities'details and contents. The quality of teaching behavior decides the quality of teaching. Studying P.E teachers'teaching behavior is helpful to understand their teaching situation, to improve teaching methods and using skills, to intensify teaching management and teachers'construction, to improve teaching quality and effects. Therefore, under the background of reforming new courses, it is necessary to study teachers'behavior in middle schools. It is theoretic to teaching reformation on middle school P.E system.By applying methods of document study, investigation and statistics, studying the middle schools in the six districts in Shi Jiazhuang(Yu Hua District, Xin Hua District, Qiao Dong District, Qiao Xi District, Chang An District and Jing Xing District), sampling 36 middle schools as objectives to investigate their P.E teachers and students, the conclusions are as follows:1 Teachers'teaching attitudes are good, teaching motivations are correct, knowing better to the Criterion; preparing for lessons collectively is the major way, but their understanding to this method is superficial and having prejudice in practicing it.2 About instructional objectives, most teachers have designed systematic and complete objectives combining with new teaching ideas according to the Criterion, but they fail to practice all theories in teaching. On the choice of contents, most teachers pay attention to students'interest and text books, lacking of efficient regulation and control.3 Most teachers can teach by demonstration, explanation and shibboleth etc, which can get most students'recognition; while part teachers are lack of communications with students, which influences the teaching effect.4 On teaching organization, class-focused form is carried out in most schools with various organization parts; on teaching management, according to the contents, most teachers can use various forms to create the best environment and class atmosphere, however, P.E teachers'motional teaching activity is not so good to promote students'self-management.5 On teaching assessment, effective and reasonable assessment system has not been formed currently in Shi Jiazhuang. Teachers'assessments are comparatively single and lack of reference data.Finally, on the basis of middle school teachers'teaching behavior in Shi Jiazhuang region, Also the suggestions are as follows:1 Middle school teachers should study, reform and create various teaching methods on the basis of inheriting traditional advantages in teaching behavior. Grasping go-aheadism, organize and manage teaching activities effectively to finish work and improve teaching quality.2 Middle school teachers'professional quality should be reinforced, improving their professional levels.3 To strengthen communication among teachers in different schools, train teachers regularly to improve their whole quality.4 Set a reasonable assessment system under the guideline of the Criteron according to middle schools'real situations in Shi Jiazhuang region.
