Recently for some years, the higher educational development of our country is quickly, college recruitment scale enlarges constantly since 1999, higher education changes gradually from former elite type education to popular education。However, higher education popular when the development given higher education brings opportunity at the same time, have also caused a series of problem that is hard to solve , The college entrance examination reform is the one of problem that arouses completely social extensive concern. Therefore, it has important meanings, that its counter measure and the college entrance examination reform in higher educational popular process carry out research。Professor Martin, American sociologist, investigated the experience of higher educational development in western countries due to the important position of higher education in social life。He pointed out his famous theory of the period of higher educational popularization that divides periods of higher education development according to gross school entry rate. When gross school entry rate reaches 15% - 50%, higher education come into the period of popularization,and great changes different from elite education will take place in the college entrance examination reform, which changes some shortcomings of traditional elite education and provides some new opportunities for the development of higher education。Hence, the current matriculation system cannot meet the requirements of the changes, So an overall and great reform in the examination is in an urgent need。Through the research method of adopting related historical books, comparing and contrasting useful information, the article makes an overall analysis on the reforms of the current matriculation system。The part of comparative research describes the matriculation system in America and Japan, On the basis of it, this part summarizes their common aspects, which is regarded as reference of the reform of the college entrance examination system in China。The reforming of the college entrance examination system is a great complicated systematic project, covering all walks of life,so any changes to it should be made carefully。In the past four years the reforming of the examination system has been strengthened, which draws attention of the society。It's quite necessary to observe the development of the reform, actually, since the recovery of the national university entrance examination in 1977,reforms in this examination system has never stopped。This paper attempts to explore the future development of the examination by recalling its history and analyzing the current situation.
