In recent years when the educational change is going we have clear recognition of teacher professional development. As web techniques move forward, the edublog is being introduced into the teacher training except for the traditional ways, and the edublog gets to be a new way for the teacher professional development. It is significant and important apply the edublog to the teacher professional development, which becomes the central issue of this dissertation.The dissertation has five parts except the chapter One. First of all, it synthesizes the relavant data of research at home and abroad, sorting out and summing up the themes associated with the edublog and its promotion for the teacher professional development. Secondly, it puts emphasis on the generalization of the edublog typologies and functions based on the collected data. Thirdly, by choosing four representatives of the regional edublog groups, it outlines their status , analyzes their quantitatives and contents, and concludes their successful experiences in facilitating the professional growth of teachers.Then the dissertation offers a case analysis of Liu Hui's Edublog---My Sun---life profiles of Teacher Wen. It describes how Liu Hui explored his professional development through the process of his edublog building, and illustrates with examples the concrete roles the edublog plays in waking up the teacher consciousness of development, promoting the teacher ability and knowledge in profession. Finally, it raises several problems existed in the edublog use and gives corresponding suggestions for improvement.
