With the rapid development and furious competition in 21st century, various industries have been enhancing the level of employees' capability. Especially in primary and secondary schools, there occurs continual reformation, including the demand of quality-oriented education, the application of information technology, the deepened reform of employment system, the enhancement of the relationship between schools and society. All these adds the complexity of the school management.School management comes with great pressure while it has failure as well as success. So the most important thing for principal is the courage when confronted with frustration and failure, which means one should be confident and determined with the work of management. That is called Managerial Self-efficacy. Without it, one could not be a good principal.Principals work under great pressure, but the pressure is not definitely disabling. Proper pressure can stimulate one's potential. But if the pressure keeps over a long period of time, one usually falls into a state of excessive professional nervous, in which condition one will be worn out, anxious, depressed and will descend in working ability, even be exhausted. This phenomenon is called job burnout.The dissertation is based on these thoughts, using academic and empirical study to discover and solve the "job burnout" of primary and secondary school principals. First, the thesis defines the basic theory of the research's frame and questionnaire designing, then it finds the managerial self-efficacy and job burnout among primary and secondary school principals by measurement and statistical survey so as to discover their background factors and the correlation of them, then five major points were concluded: 1. The primary and secondary school principals have less confidence in management; 2. The job burnout of primary and secondary school principals are in low level; 3.The managerial self-efficacy of primary and secondary school principals differentiates due to different gender, working year, education background, region; 4.The job burnout of primary and secondary school principals differentiates due to different working year, education background; 5.The better the managerial self-efficacy of primary and secondary school principals is, the lower job burnout will be.In the ending part, it explores an effective approach to solving the job burnout and enhancing the managerial self-efficacy of principals based on the existing circumstance of China.
