Since this century, domestic researchers have deeply analyzed the consistency between PBL and China's new round of curriculum reform ideas and goals, which is based on further introduction of "Problem-Based Learning (PBL)" model, and some difficulties of implementation in China's culture. In recent years, PBL is concerned by more and more teachers with different discipline background including chemistry education, who hope to implement the idea of PBL in their discipline instruction, use PBL instructional model to design their instruction.This study focuses on how to design and implement PBL chemistry curriculum and instruction effectively and efficiently in chemistry classroom. Therefore, this article cards and analyzes previous general theory about PBL and PBL case study on chemistry, to clear the theoretical basis of the study and the main problems faced, which will help PBL-curriculum-and-instruction-designers enrich their theory opinions about PBL curriculum and instruction. Then this article refers to and integrates existing PBL curriculum and instructional design models, and proposes a model of curriculum design and a model of instruction design for chemistry classroom. Then, the author illustrates these models with a specific chemistry case, which will help PBL-curriculum-and-instruction -designers enhance the factual ability to design PBL curriculum and instruction. At last, the article shows difficulties in the implementation process of the PBL chemistry case, reflects and rethinks these difficulties and puts forward some strategies and opinions to span the gulf of these difficulties in view of characteristics of the new chemistry classroom learning environment, which will help PBL implementers identify the difficulties in the process of implementation of PBL to improve the effect of implementation of PBL.In this study, the author intends to create a new chemistry classroom learning environment to support the implementation of PBL curriculum and instruction effectively.The whole article is divided into six parts as follows:Introduction: This part discusses the research background, the purpose and significance of the research, studies and research methods, and several key concepts are defined in the part;Chapter 1: Carding and analyzing some major achievements of PBL. The main point of carding: PBL and its impact on China's reform of curriculum and instruction, analysis of the key elements of instructional design principles of PBL, PBL learning theoretical foundation, PBL chemistry case studies in China;Chapter 2: Theoretical model of PBL chemical curriculum design in the new classroom learning environment, and interpret the ideas and strategy using the model to design chemistry curriculum with a chemistry case.Chapter 3: Theoretical model of PBL chemistry instructional design in the new classroom learning environment, and interpret the ideas and strategy using the model to design chemistry instruction with a chemistry case.Chapter 4: Combining with narrative of the case, this part analyses the major difficulties emerging in each aspect of the process of the implementation, and gives some corresponding Countermeasures; In addition, this chapter reflects and rethinks the process of the case implementation and problems that should be paid attention to in PBL Curriculum and Instruction according to the performance and feedback of students.Conclusion & prospect: The main conclusions of this study and the prospect of following study.
