Research On University Ranking

With social progress and the development of higher education, University started out of the ivory tower and moving toward the center of the community, University is becoming the Agency to provide a higher education services. University of evaluation by the community is becoming an inevitable trend. As an important form of social assessment of the University, University Ranking began on the stage of history .University Ranking is defined in the first place.Then, the thesis researched the ranking of domestic universities, including the rise background,the development of history and two typical rankings. Through this study, the thesis has found some existing issues of Chinese university ranking,.These existing issues Involves three aspects : ranking purpose,ranking index and ranking objects. Next, the thesis have in-depth analysis of the cause of those problems. Part four, the thesis Introduced advanced foreign experience of university ranking.Finally, corresponding proposal and idea to these problems are put forward after studying and referring the successful experience of foreign countries. It is necessary to Intervene in the govemment's macroeconomic regulation and control .including developing standards of Chinese classification and college information database. On this basis, the Government should also build the corresponding uinversity ranking system .
