With the development of economy in our country, the incidence of violent crime is increasing significantly, with variant forms, and more and more severities. At present, juvenile delinquencies, hitting the pipe and environmental pollution have been called as"Three major dangers". Juvenile delinquencies have become a serious social problem, which can't be neglected anymore. And it is also very important to answer how to prevent and decrease these crimes. Juvenile delinquency is a kind of conducts, which severely deviate social behavioral norm, ethic norm, and offend the law, and has attracted the watch of the whole society. Many researches have indicated that whether an individual will be an offender varies greatly for different people, even in the same environment. And personality is one of the most important variables to indicate delinquencies, and it is the hottest area for researches. On the other hand, applicants for enlistment are mainly from middle school students in our country. Therefore, it is very important to measure violent tendency related personalities, and predict the risk for violent crimes, which is directly related with the quality of the army, with the stability of the army, and the training quality of the army. So the traditional mode for selecting enlistments can hardly satisfy the requirements of modernization of the army, and the contents to be covered need to be enlarged further. It is of great importance for realizing the new policy of the army to qualify the soldiers, to improve the quality of the enlistees and prevent bad applicants joining the services. The purpose of this study is to deal with some problems encountered in the practice of selecting enlistees nationally. Violent tendency related personalities were derived through comparing scores of CSPQPC for three different groups, which were juvenile offenders, disqualified applicants for enlistment, and average soldiers. Then odd ratios of each item were analyzed using the data of the three groups, to discuss the relationship between CSPQPC and the interview manual, and to conclude the reasons for the formation of these personalities. Based on these results, psychological interview was supported to improve the validity of predicting violent tendency related personalities in the entrance psychological testing system for enlistment. This study targeted the real problems in the practice, based on literature review, investigated the real situations of the army, and nailed down the demanding problems in the entrance psychological testing for enlistments. Through analyzing the validities of CSPQPC and the interview manual, we discussed the strategy of detecting juvenile violent crime tendency. The main contents and aims of this study include the following parts. (1) Compare the CSPQPC results of juvenile offenders, disqualified applicants for enlistment, and average soldiers; evaluate the validity of CSPQPC, and the feasibility of using questionnaire to detect violent tendency. (2) Analyze the odd ratios of each item from CSPQPC using data of recidivists, first offenders, disqualified applicants for enlistment, and average soldiers, to indicate the discriminating validity of the items. (3) Analyze the correlation matrix of subtests from CSPQPC and contents from interview manual, to understand the relationship of CSPQPC and the interview manual, indicating the feasibility of using interview manual to detect the juvenile violent tendency related personality. At last, to nail down the strategy of testing the violent crime related personalities, provide theoretical proof for entrance psychological testing, and improve the predicting effectiveness for juvenile violent crime tendency.Main results and conclusions of this study:1. Results of CSPQPC showed that, scores of juvenile violent offenders and disqualified applicants for enlistment were significantly higher than scores of the contrast group. Scores of disqualified group were significantly higher than ones of juvenile offenders'in FAM, ANT, HOS and SOC. These results showed that disqualified group had similar violent crime related personalities with juvenile violent offenders, and that CSPQPC have good validity, and can be used in the entrance psychological testing system to detect juvenile violent crime related personalities.2. Odd ratios of items from SCH and ANG were all bigger than 1 comparing data of average juvenile and ones with violent tendency. But there were some items from FAM, VIO, ANT, DQ, HOS and SOC, whose odd ratios were smaller than 1, and the corresponding frequencies were 19%, 14%, 25%, 12%, 45% and 15%. Therefore, these items may need to be revised.3. The relationship between CSPQPC and interview manual was as bellows. Significant correlations were found between SCH and"Delinquency"and"Family problems"; between FAM and"Delinquency"and"Impulsive"; between DQ and"Impulsive"and"Delinquency"; between ANG and"Family problems"and"Anti-social"and"Delinquency"; between HOS and"Impulsive". From the results, we can see that the questionnaire and the interview manual correlate weakly in the whole, only 9 of 40 (22.5%) correlates were significant, but all were smaller than 0.2. These results indicated that the testing strategy under using is still not very completed. In order to measure the violent tendency more effectively, more studies are still needed, including deriving main personality factors, important experiences factors, and their relations.
